Congratulations to everyone for the wonderful turnout for The Founders Academy’s first Holiday Food Drive. 349 food items were donated and gratefully picked up by the New Horizons Food Bank. Way to go TFA!

It’s only a few hours until the TFA Band and Chorus Concert. Don’t miss the musical fun at 7 pm tonight.

It seems there has been some confusion with the TFA portal address. Please use this web address to access it:
http://plusportals.com/foundersacademy

We always need your donations – both of goods and time! Our latest wish lists are here:

Snow days are coming! When school is cancelled, please check your portal and email for your child’s “snow packet”. This packet lists work each student can finish at home. Teachers will have uploaded work by 8 am and will be checking in – as long as there is electricity – during the day. This work is not optional.

Don’t forget! The next information night for prospective students is January 8th at 6 pm.

Due to rising costs, TFA can no longer provide free copies of missing class work. Any extra copying that needs to be done for a student will cost 25 cents a page.

The TFA Leaders Club worked as Santa’s helpers at the Nashua YMCA North Pole Extravaganza.

And finally, a very happy holiday season to all of you from everyone at The Founders Academy … and Tipper too!

First off, I hope everyone had a great – if somewhat power challenged – Thanksgiving! And congratulations go to TFA First Lego League for winning the first award in the history of the school! Way to go!

Our holiday food drive is continuing through until December 10th. So keep those tinned items coming!

By now you must heard about or reviewed the Box Tops, Labels for Education, and Tyson Project A+ handouts given to the students a couple of weeks ago. Make sure to send in those Box Tops, Labels for Education and Tyson Project A+ labels by December 12th in order to be in the running for a “SURPRISE” that will be given out to the winning Advisory on December 18th. You never know what you will get!

Remember Pizza Monday and Fun Food Friday forms for December are due in by Wednesday, December 3rd.

Our first info night of 2015 for new students will be on January 8th from 6:00-8:00 pm at TFA.

Dates to put in your calendar:

December 15th Band Concert at 7:00 pm
School break is December 22 – January 5.

Volunteers needed for December! We desperately need volunteers for Lunchroom monitors http://vols.pt/ChttJy. And volunteers for study hall http://vols.pt/QiHBFs

All help is greatly appreciated!

Monday Matters

Sorry for the delay in posting but the Monday Matters staff have been enjoying a brief, sunny vacation in Florida.

Big news this week: bus transportation has been finalized for all Manchester students on November 24th and 25th. All students will be dismissed at 12 pm on both days in order for the teachers to hold parent/teacher conferences.

Students that cannot be picked up at 12 pm can stay until 3:15pm for after school care. Please call the front desk to let us know if you need the after school care.

If you haven’t done so already, please call the front desk to make your appointment for parent/teacher conferences. Meetings will start at 12:15 pm, with the last conference scheduled at 7:45 pm. These conferences are for parents to meet with individual teachers for approximately 15 minutes.

If you would like to meet with Ms. Kimberly Lavallee regarding IEP or 504s, please contact her separately to arrange a meeting at: Kimberly.lavallee@tfanh.org.

Tonight is our Performance Art Night! The program will start at 6 PM, with tickets available for purchase at the door. All profits from this performance will go to benefit the Spring Musical. Pizza will be available for purchase and there will be a bake sale as well.

Our next information night will be held this Tuesday, November 18 at 6 PM here at The Founders Academy. Please let any interested friends or family members know who might be considering enrolling new students for September 2015.

Ready for some holiday music? Mark your calendars for Monday, December 15 at 7 PM. The Founders Academy Band will be performing many delightful
numbers.

Volunteers needed! Volunteerspot will soon be posting a sign up sheet for many different jobs that need to be filled, including monitors for study hall and help with afterschool care on November 24th and 25th. Keep your eyes on this space!

Mount Lost and Found has been growing rapidly over the past few months. All items will be displayed during parent/teacher conferences, so have a look to see if anything belongs to your child. Anything remaining on Wednesday morning will be donated to Goodwill.

Speaking of doing good, The Founders Academy Food Drive – led by the TFA Leaders Club – will be extended to mid December. There is a good hearted competition on to see which grade can bring in the most food items. So send those canned goods in! 🙂
